Is there any way to use the FAIR command or equivalent such that slope at the ends of the lines do not change?
I.e., if the ends are tangent or perpendicular to a curve, they will remain that way and only the inner segments of the spline change?

Hi Jim - not exactly the same but Smooth
on selected control points can help - preferably many at a small amount rather than once with a large factor - that is harder to do conveniently on the mac - on Windows you just lean on Enter.
