What is the the proper way/command to extract a 3D object that connect these two closed curve outlines?

I think I would use the term “build” rather than “extract”; have you tried connecting a pair of matching corners on each object with a straight line and then using the 2-rail sweep command where the added line is the swept object and your two original crosses are the rails? Also: it helps the rail selection process if you first join all of the curves (straight lines) that make up each of your crosses.
This is based on my interpretation of what you are trying to accomplish. If that’s not right perhaps you can be more detailed in your description.
