Extend Surface (Restrictions)

I use extend surface a lot, I would like to be able to extend an edge fully when it is an outer radius or an inner corner.

I want to Extend radius edge A until it becomes a corner.

Extend edge allows me to pull until it is almost a corner but I cannot get to the corner.

I can extend almost to a corner B

Is there a way to essentially untrim a radius edge to return it to becoming a corner.

If I extend the edges as curves you can see the intersection I’m trying to extend the radius surface to the corner, If I click on the corner the command doesn’t complete, I can get almost there.

Any help you can give would be fabulous.

What I am ultimately trying to do is get rid of this radius and converting it back to sharp corner which included the side face with the radius.

Just a thought I dont know if it is a good idea with the surface but have about untrim command?

It of course depends on how you made the surface originaly

Thank you Astrid, I have indeed been using untrim and then retrimming the expanded surface to fit my new geometry. I’m after a shortcut. Its a part of the command I think should exist and I was hoping I simply had not figured it out yet.

Your response does give me an idea, I wonder if I can shrink the edges I know are correct and then untrim.

Arh so you want like an “unfillet” function. I dont think that has been made. Though I am sure you there has been more debate/request on the subject

In your situation I would use _ReplaceEdge command:
2024-02-21 13_05_45-Window

some manual work is required, but I guess it’s the fastest without untrimming the surface completely.

Try it with simple cases and see if you understand how it works. It’s quite useful!

Thank you Riccardo, you get my Genius Award for the day…

Using ‘ReplaceEdge’ command with Mode ‘ExtendSideEdges’ enabled gives me exactly what I wanted.

Thank you Astrid & Riccardo for your help…
