Is there a command similar to “extend” in FormZ (which I used a lot…):

Thank you!

Yes, it’s in the solid tools and is called ‘move face to boundary’. There’s also a command in the curve tools to extend a curve to a boundary. I was very happy to find this tool, as it actually works even better than FormZ’s. For example, you can extend a planar face to a curved face and it will match the curved destination.
One thing to note is that the boundary, unlike in FormZ, needs to be lined up with the final position of the face you want to extend. In other words they must collide. In FormZ the face you are extending to can be anywhere and the command just assumes it’s infinite. Obviously that wouldn’t really work with a curved surface as the destination so I think it makes sense how it’s working in Rhino.
Thank you, Evan, superb!
Playing with it a bit more I do wish it had the ‘distance’ option offered in FormZ. It’s a great feature for architectural models when one wants to extend a roof with a particular overhang distance, for example.
