Exporting solid and chamfer object properties to IGS and FBX

I find it impressive that Rhino surfaces and polysurface solids can have procedural chamfer and solid thickness properties.

I am wondering how to export IGES (NURBS) and FBX (poly) files where those properties are baked into exported geometry?
Thank you.

Hi Dave -

I’m not at all sure what you mean by that? Are you referring to “Edge Softening” and “Thickening”? If so, those are on-the-fly effects that are performed on the display mesh of an object. You can extract this (“ExtractRenderMesh”) to create an independent mesh object that can be exported as such.

Yes, thats what I meant. Thank you.
Its a great feature, though I am not quite satisfied with how render meshes flow . They look kind of unclean when I bring em into my destination apps. Houdini and Maya. Via FBX or OBJ. Of course IGS format does not pickup on the fly effects. Not a big deal.
