Exporting a series of .png's automatically with different layers turned on for making a video

Hi all,

I am trying to create a video of body motion using stills from Rhino. I export a sequence of .obj’s of body positions from another program, put them into Rhino in separate layers indicating the frame, and then manually export the .png, turning each frame off and the next one on at every step of the process. I need to use Rhino because I need to place the .obj’s in a point cloud.

Is there a way to get this done automatically? I know that the “Animation” capabilities in Rhino seem to be more for camera motion than for camera fixed object motion. I am currently using V5 but can use V6 if need be.

Thank you.

Hi Evan - it seems to me you’ll need a script to do this.

Hi evan,

or you could use grashopper

if you reference your geometry in the “Geo” component and rightclick on the slider and choose animate
grasshopper will export a series of .bmp imagessimpleAnimation.gh (7.4 KB)
