Export Tsplines model made in Rhino into CATIA

Hello.
I have made a model using T-splines in Rhino.
I have exporting it using STP file into CATIA.

The import goes well, but when I try to shell the model the operation fails.
In the model in CATIA I see that there are many new thin surfaces where the radii were on the Tsplines model in rhino (I am guessing CATIA or the STP export is breaking them into smaller more understandable surfaces)

I have looked for plugins to ease the translation and the only one that I have found is one from datakit.com but since I live in Sweden, and they do not sell it in Sweden, they don’t let me get a trial version.

Does anyone has an idea about formats, or other available plug ins?

If you read the STEP file back into Rhino, do you then also see the thin surfaces?

Hello,

Datakit sells in all countries.
There is a Datakit reseller in Sweden : Marinesoft You can contact them to get a demo license and to buy the CATIA export plug-in.

If you prefer, you can also request a demo license directly on Datakit website. And buy the plug-in directly from Datakit, or online.

Not sure about that, as T-Splines surfaces have no direct NURBS equivalent. What you might want to try is explode the t-spline objects to get Rhino polysurfaces. You can then export the Rhino objects as STEP. If the surfaces in Rhino after exploding those look the same as the surfaces you are getting in Catia, then that’s probably as good as it gets.
