I Have a rhino 5 model complete with material maps (standard rhino inetractive shader). I need to be able to 3export the model for presentation to a laptop, complete with all textures.
Is there a command to bind all textures to the file or to export / package a file with all its materials and textures in a single folder?
Use the ‘Save Textures’ checkbox in the File>Save As dialog or use the check box to embed textures in the 3dm in Options>Document Properties>Rendering prior to saving. Either will embed the material and environment textures into the 3dm. They will then be extracted to a folder in the same location as the 3dm once it’s opened on the laptop.
Dear Brian, can not find the second options. I can not find it: check box to embed textures in the 3dm in Options>Document Properties>Rendering prior to saving
This doesn’t save the textures to a folder with the project for me in Rhino 7, as far as I can tell. It seems to merely save the directory reference to the texture jpgs on my computer.
I’m looking for a way to export particular objects to a file which I can send to someone else and it will open with its materials intact.
Check the file on another computer or rename the directory or texture names on your computer. Then when you open the 3dm saved with textures, they won’t be found and will get extracted to a folder in the same location as that 3dm.
