Export in TIFF

Hey. friends. I need to export a flattened surface with texture in TIFF format. What plugin to use for this?

Hi @blitz.dmitriy

Maybe print to high-res PDF and convert PDF to TIFF in “Photosomething”?

-Jakob

Rhino printer has a TIFF output as well, no middle-man needed.

@Piotr - cool! Never needed that, but nice to know!

I tried a lot of attempts to make a quality TIFF file, but the result is not yet

Just checked.
The quality is really questionable. I do agree with you.
It needs to be inspected.

What are your settings? Can you post a file?

Texture.3dm (2.1 MB)

The difficulty is that I can’t find a way to export Rhino patterns along with a good quality texture. PDF file also did not give good results.

The best way so far is to export the outline of the pattern and re-apply the textures in a third-party editor. But this process gives a bad gluing at the joints.

Hello - what are you looking at? Can you post a file?

-Pascal

I must apologize.
I could not reproduce the lack of edges but I must admit that sometimes Rhino is tired and needs to be restarted for normal results, maybe that was he case. (So-called ‘tiredness’ happens in Grasshopper too).

Attached are 2 files: screen and print, both of good quality.

Here is a quality export to PDF in comparison with the original file. Is there any way to improve the quality?

Hi, Piotr. Please tell me how you got these previews

Blitz,

Adobe PDF defaults to compressing bitmap images, usually using the jpeg algorithm.
If alter your PDF creation settings to have no compression or downsampling things should improve.

Yeah, Steve_Howden. I think so too. I would try without compression, only Rhino does not give such a possibility in the settings.

Aaaah, Yes. I’m using the Adobe print driver which DOES give control over compression. Sorry

Thank you so much. That’s exactly what I was looking for. It is very nice to deal with a man who knows the Rhino. I will definitely try. One more question for you. I know that the Rhino displays surfaces in a simplified form. I mean that.

What you need to do to rounded edge to be visible, and not faces? I tried to change Unit but it didn’t help.

It is not about units but mesh density.
Go to options and change mesh from jagged to custom and set it to 1.
