Explode Curve component removes segments?

Hi all,
I’ve got a few curves here where the explode component removes segments of the curve. Does anybody have any idea why this is the case and how to solve this?

The problem happens in all versions I’ve tested: Rhino5, Rhino6, Rhino WIP.

fit curve can fix it.

Looking into it now, definitely seems like a bug, only real question is where.

edit: code looks horrible, must have written this a looong time ago. Odds are the issue is in Grasshopper, not Rhino.
