Thinking of getting a more portable laptop that still can handle Rhino. I really like testing things in render display mode. Would this be enough?
14 inch m5 pro chip
18-core CPU, 20-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine
48GB unified memory
2TB SSD storage
That’s what i run, great machine. A lot depends on what Rhino versions you need to run, as well as plugins. Older versions may be incompatible with the latest/future MacOS.
Note that Rhino 9 is expected to have worksession for mac as well as Rhino.Inside and maybe even local compute.
Thanks. So you use an 14 inch?
I run Rhino 8
Correct. What are your concerns? What type of workflows do you intend to do?
Ok interesting.
I model architecture. Sometimes the files get pretty big.

I really like modelling in render display mode which I am doing currently on my legion 5 with a nvidia RTX 5070-ti.
If it isn’t the fastest rendering out files it isn’t the most important but wouldn’t complain if it could do this and handle raytraced mode ok. -
I kind of rely on alias and python scripts. I hope I can implement them in MacOS.
A lot of them have to do with layers, sorting objects and making fast adjustments to their properties in the object properties panel, ie. set everything to byLayer, byParent. -
Size of projects. I currently have a file that is 350 MB another one that is 665 MB. They could be cleaned up but It usually gets a little bit messy while experimenting and I tend to clean up later. Maybe a bad habit
Thanks for the help
