Errors found in WIP

I think I’ve found a couple of bugs in the software. I’ve been using the WIP for the last couple months without much issue, and two weeks ago it decided to go all crazy on me. I thought that since it was a bug, updates would fix it. However, 2 or 3 updates later and the same problems persist. I’ve also tried re-installation - no luck there.

Firstly, all the toolbars simply do not work anymore. Rhino gives me an error message when I load the program, and after that all the toolbars go blank, no matter what I try to do. I can still use Rhino just fine because I have all my hotkeys memorized, but I would like my toolbar back.

Secondly, in shaded mode, all the surfaces shows the error message in the image below. Again, Rhino works just fine, but its rather irritating as the words move around when I change camera views.

Does ToolbarReset and restarting Rhino restore your toolbars? I haven’t heard this one from other users recently so I’m also wondering if your Windows is up to date. Can you check the Windows update history and see if anything has failed recently? @JohnM any thoughts as well?

The second issue of the missing emap used in Shaded mode is something I’ve been seeing intermittently for the past few days as well but I’ve yet been able to find a series of steps to reliably reproduce it for a bug report. A restart of Rhino WIP fixes the issue each time for me here.

I had the same issue (random text on surfaces) in shaded and my custom display modes.
I’ll try to replicate it again when I get back home.

I wanna say it happened when something crashed. I didn’t notice what it was exactly, 'cause I was typing in command or something.

It’s the file location for the emap used in the shaded display mode. It’s as if the file becomes unloaded somehow. Thanks for any other info you stumble upon that can reproduce it for a bug.

Hi Brian,

Toolbar reset seems to have done the trick! Thanks - that was quite an easy fix and I’m not sure what went wrong to have caused that.

As for the second issue, I’m using W10, and its been updated!
