Error popup: "The 3DxWare driver is already running." when starting Rhino

Hi,

I am running Rhino SR11 64bit, and I’m using a 3Dconnexion 3D mouse. Recently Rhino started displaying a popup with the message “The 3DxWare driver is already running.” on startup. The mouse doesn’t work when this happens.

I’m not 100% sure but I think this started after I installed the latest Rhino service release. I haven’t checked yet if reinstalling the driver might help, just wanted to check if someone else is having this problem or solved it already.

Hi Mathias - You might try locating the Rhino installation in Windows’ Control Panel and choose ‘repair’ to see if that clears things up.

I’ve had this too for a while, including an error message about an XML file that could not be loaded. That file appeared to be corrupted. IIRC I removed the plug-in folder for the 3DxWare plugin from the %appdata%\McNeel\Rhinoceros\5.0\Plug-Ins\ folder and/or re-installed the 3DConnexion driver to solve this.
