Goodmorning!
I’m currently trying to duplicate a type and create a new one, and whilst following the exact same workflow as suggested in another post: Create a new system family type and load it inside revit project - #10 by Japhy
I can’t get it to work due to the following errors:
- Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
- Transaction RolledBack and aborted.
Anyone has any idea how to solve this? Thank you in advance!

@Zacheyre_Faber1 I believe the component is not recognizing the type. Try using the Type container
Hi Muhammad!
Thank you for the responds, I tried re-creating your suggestion, however I’m still getting the exact same error
Note: I have tried different families, but those do not work as well..

Are you using the latest version of Rhino.Inside.Revit?
Is it Duplicate Type Component?
I think this is the latest version RiR:
Also I am trying to use the Duplicate Type component, I think this is the one you are using as well right?:

Hi @Zacheyre_Faber1,
Could you please share a .RVT file and a .GH file that exposes this issue?
That would help us to reproduce the issue.
Thanks.
Hi Kike,
Hereby a .rvt file + .gh file that exposes this issue:
Project_Error_Type_Duplicate.rvt (7.7 MB)
Project_Error_Type_Duplicate.gh (6.8 KB)
Hopefully that helps

@Zacheyre_Faber1
This is what I get here with the files you shared.
What version of Revit are you using?
