My rhino won’t open and comes up with the error code in the blog title. I’ve tried repairing and reinstalling the app several times, and nothing works. Any help?

We’ve Seen this a few times since the last Windows update. Repairing the C++ redistributables resolves it.
The repair option can done with the following:
- Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
- Right-click Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable and choose Repair.
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x86) ← do this first
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64) ← you will now be prompted to reboot.

I’m currently experiencing the exact same issue with Rhino 8 (Error loading RhinoCore.dll).
I have already tried repairing and reinstalling the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributables (both x86 and x64), but unfortunately there was no change.
I also followed the steps recommended in this guide:

However, when I used the Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool, it reported that it was unable to resolve the issue.
For context, the problem started after installing Ladybug Tools, and Rhino has not been able to start since.

You may have multiple issues. I haven’t seen a RhinoCore.dll error that hasn’t been able to be resolved by repairing the redistributables.
