Environment - Cleanup of non-used hdr textures fails

CHASING GHOSTS

Cleaning up of deleted items from Rhino files doesn’t seem to be Rhino’s strongest side. Apart from failing to remove Worksession files, obsolete materials (Purge), dangling Block references, Rhino also doesn’t skip looking for textures which are no longer part of the document:

Fig 2: And this is the environment i have in the document (none, that is):

(Restarting Rhino or reopening the document didn’t fix it this time)

OK, I know, bugs tends to creep in, and as long as they are not critical we can wait for fixes. But fixing cleanup functionality can be done in bundles by now… (I reported four examples today)

Hi Rolf - again, I am not able to repeat this:

Add an environment
Save the file
Close and re-open the file
Delete the environment
Save, close and re-open the file.
I do not see anything unexpected at the command line.

Can this be due to a R5 file being saved as R6 after leaning up? Perhaps you can examine the file to see what it is in the file which is no longer handled properly by R6? :

Ghost Texture 005.3dm (128.6 KB)

This is what I see when I open it:

Hi Rolf - thanks for the file - there is a texture in the textures panel - with no image.

If you delete that, it should all behave.

Learning something new every… week.
