Emission material needs help

Hi,

Many Times I am using maps with emission and having the material change to blown out white until one adds the map is disconcerting. If I already have a pbr with maps and I add an emission slot the material jumps to solid white even though there is a diffuse material there. One has to either turn the color picker to black and then load emission maps or live with the confusion until the maps are loaded.

Weirder is anything above 1 makes the material turn completely black in rendered view. One then needs to render to see the result this is really not great. And to see the diffuse or non silhouette in the view port one has to turn the color down to black, use artic view or have a separate view mode that can see the object properly lit.

Another really bad thing unchecking the use emission slot map. If the value is 1 makes the material blown out white again. I guess we need an on off switch for emission material, other wise one has to set the color picker to black that’s really unpro and error prone or set the value under 1.

Also settings need some more care they don’t interact properly with the alpha unless I make a mask channel first and then use that and that only works non completely. If one wants to make windows both emissive transparentish and shinny we can’t do it easily.

will you please run the systeminfo command in rhino and paste the report here?
