EditPythonScript window not popping up

Dear Rhino Team,

In an attempt to update IronPython in Rhino 5, I added a later version as a path in the Options menu of the EditPythonScript window. I changed the order so the newest version was above the preset paths. Now when I run the EditPythonScript command in Rhino, the window does not pop up anymore. I already read that changing the preset paths is unadvisable but is there a way it can be fixed? I already tried re-installing Rhino but this did not solve the problem.
Thank you for your help.

Victor

Hi Victor - do you have a separate Iron Python installation apart from the one Rhino installs? If so, I think you need to remove that, and possibly reinstall Rhino for good measure.

Hi Pascal,

Thank you for your reply. I have removed the separate installation of IronPython and reinstalled Rhino5. The window is still not appearing after running the EditPythonScript command sadly.

Victor

Hi Victor - look in Options > Plug-ins page for Iron Python - make sure that is present and enabled…

Any luck?

Try closing Rhino and in file explorer go to
%appdata%\McNeel\Rhinoceros\6.0\Plug-ins\IronPython (814d908a-e25c-493d-97e9-ee3861957f49)\settings

Delete the settings-Scheme__Default.xml file and then restart Rhino

That should get you back to default settings with EditPythonScript

Thank you for your replies. IronPython is enabled in the plugins options menu. Deleting the settings.xml file worked!

@v.h.ghering,

If you still need separate IronPython get the standalone (portable) version. I use it all the time without any problems.
