In Mac V6 WIP I have locked object’s transparency set to 90 % in shaded mode. If I apply edge softening the locked objects appear solid without transparency.
Edit: The problem appears only in the perspective viewport.

Investigating…
I ran into two other bugs and have reported them.
Someone with a different Mac setup will need to verify this.
@pascal?
Checkin’ it.

Do you get the same lack of transparency for locked objects when Shaded is set to the default 50%?
And still only in your Perspective view?
Assuming so, is this problem also repeatable in a new file with a Box?
At the default 50%, edge softened, locked objects are still transparent for me in my Copy of Shaded mode.
If the object transparency is set to 50 % in a new file with a box it works… kind of. I don’t get a 90 % transparency, but 100 % - it looks like x-ray display mode, or wireframe.
I also just noticed, that the box says 900000 % (or 500000 %):
It’s impossible to change it back to “90 %” - it just reverts back to 900000 % again…

I opened the problematic file again - and now I get transparency: again 100 % - not 90 %. Sometimes it (almost) works, and sometimes not.
(The solid object in the screen capture is not locked)

Unfortunately, there’s nothing I can glean from that to put on the bug report.
I hit the U/I problem and there is a bug report for that as you saw.
What we need is a repeatable, specific problem.
But you know that too.
Yeah, I know. I’ll try to figure out why it happens and let you know.
You don’t see the strange %-numbers either?
Philip
I do. I filed the bug report that Wim referenced as a result.
Ah yes… Now I read the bug report…
