Edge Softening - Minimum quantity

For some reason, the softening size is minimum in my documents of 0.01. I’m not sure this makes sense. I think this parameter should be limited to at least the document precision. I have a document that has 0.001 precision, yet I am constrained to an order of magnitude more for edge softening?

This is in Rhino 8.

Any ideas?

I see that the number shown for softening doesn’t show 0.001 but Rhino 8 does register it, at least here:

Do you not see the same?

Model units in small Meters, so 0.001 as absolute tolreance.

Thanks. This does seem to be the case.

I got used to some how materials work in Cycles. I think some of them have minimum values I think should be more finely tuned for non-linear response; and thought the softening was annoyingly the same.

Yeah, it’s easy to see what one expect to see
This is clearly a small bug though, as R7 does show 0.001 in the UI.

Can someone please correct this numeric rounding error in Rhino 8?
