Edge retreatment

Hi,

I need you advise to solve an issue which I’m face, I have created a flower design then I used “Drape a surface over object” to create one solid pace then I did “OffsetSrf” to create a thickness for the object .

But I face an issue which I have a naked edges after the offset, and I don’t know how to fix that ,

Even After removing the surface which cause the issue, I find internal edge which difficult to fix it .

please advise me how to solve the issue and make the object one solid pice .

You’re running in all sorts of problem with your procedure, likely many intersections…

What was the source of this object?

The source is polysurfce which I have designed, but I used “Drope surface over object” to make it one pice

The offset of your drape surface has many self intersections. You might want to offset to the other side?

Can you post a file with the surfaces before you did the drape?

It will be worst if I did that .

flower_subd.zip (18.3 MB)

Have you considered to QuadRemesh the drape surface?

Check the file attached, it might be much easier this way.

Hello - why do you need the object to be a single surface?

-Pascal

because I wanna print it to make a masterpice .

Depending on the requirements and the printer software, you might be able to export overlapping geometry and the print software combines everything into one object. Formlabs at least used to have a Netfabb tool implemented and it worked great.
