I was working on some floor plans and room layouts, trying to ensure that all the square footage was working, when I noticed a behavior when copying text functions that I thought should be different.
I duplicated the floor plans to make adjustments and different versions, but the copied text only references the original curve. I understand that this is because the function references a specific curve in the Rhino file, and it’s not like a room tag in Revit where you put it inside a closed area for it to work.
Still, it would be nice for Rhino to adjust the text function automatically to reference the new duplicated curve. I would want it to do this when I am copying the text and host curve at the same time. This way, I wouldn’t have to change the text function reference whenever I want to make a new version. I’ve attached a short video showing what I’m talking about. (Sorry for the poor video quality; I needed to keep the file size small)
Please let me know if what I wrote needs more explanation.
Any help is great!
