Firing DupFaceBorder from the right-click menu (most recently used) fails. Steps:
- Call DupFaceBorder from the Curve > Curve From Objects > Duplicate Face Border.
- Select the face to dupe.
- SUCCESS!
- Run the command from the right-click menu.
- Command fails; doesn’t allow selecting a face from a polysurf
- ???
EDIT: I just checked, and the command works fine when first called via the icon in the Main toolbar, then subsequently from the r-click menu. It only fails when the first use is from the menu command.
I am unable to repeat that in Windows or Mac WIP.
What build are you running?
I tried it with a couple different Mac WIP builds and still no problem.
Right-click repeating the command after running it from the Curve > From objects pull-down menu works fine for me.
Weird. I’m on the latest beta Version 8 WIP (8.0.23164.14306, 2023-06-13)
Expires July 28, 2023
Thanks for looking into it for me.
I test that build and also a newer in-house build.
You might try running ToolbarReset and check the “Delete toolbar customizations” option. Then Quit Rhino and restart.
Any luck?
I restarted the WIP and the problem is gone. Just for my own edification: if I do need to run ToolbarReset with the option you specify, will that nuke the customizations to my Popup Toolbar? If so, can I export the Popup beforehand as insurance?
Yes, it will, and yes, you should save a copy of any customizations just as a backup.
I find it frustrating how often I have to restart my Macs to fix these weird problems.
It’s like Windows was 15 years ago.
