DupBorder, Join crvs all behaving strangely in my R8 install

I have a decorative moulding that I have drawn and extruded, all fine.

When trying to dupborder the end cap, the curve created is not accurate, and it seems to get rebuilt / simplified with less control points.

This also happens when I individually copy all edges, then try to join. The reulting curve is simplified and not accurate.

Please help! This happend on 8.3 and now 8.4.

What are your file tolerances with regard to the part size?

Nailed it. Yep tolerances default too low for me!
