Drape equivalent with a Nurbs surface

Thought I might send out a question here to see if anyone has any dandy methods of working around this.

I’m working on an architectural project with a relatively large portion of land in contours. I’ve made planar surfaces from all of the closed curve outlines in the contour, and have done a simple Drape over those surfaces in plan to give me a basic meshing mass of my site.
However, I’m curious if anyone here may have tried some other method with similar information to get a Nurbs surface instead of a mesh that has produced similar results? It would be much more ideal for me further down the road in my workflow to have a surface that could be manipulated with broader control points.

_Drape isn’t a mesh…

run the command, turn off Auto Spacing and lower the U/V count.

Wow.
I could have sworn when I did this same process last year it produced a Mesh for me, was it a change from Rhino 4 to 5 or am I just halucinating in my lack of sleep?
Much appreciated Jeff.

ha… not really sure about a change from 4 to 5 but a little hallucination may be occurring

the auto settings tend to give a very dense UV count so it looks like a mesh when seeing all of those little squares.

It has always been a NURBS surface. That is what allows it to “drape”.
