Downloaded example renders differently here - why?

Continuing the discussion from Ground Plane horizon is too sharp when blended to horizon:

Hi @BrianJ,

I downloaded the example you posted for @Borja2:

to look at it more closely but “straight out of the box” the water renders differently here:

What settings should I look at to get a result more like yours?

TIA
Jeremy

Same here.

Probably different bump strength and distance settings in Tools > Options > Advanced

This?

Yes, will need to know what the values for @BrianJ

Do those need to become document-specific settings?

Those are Rhino Options, not document properties.

Sorry all, I wish bump factors would get fixed and be the same between Rendered and Raytraced. Set RhinoCycles BumpStrengthFactor to .01 and you’ll get my results. @andy

Hi @wim,

Yes, I was querying whether they should become document-specific instead.

The suggestion is that @BrianJ has changed the values to get a different render effect. But presumably the defaults for those settings were there for a reason. That seems to imply that different render scenarios may want different settings, hence my wondering if they should be made document-specific.
