Double-clicking .3dm will not load plugins

Hi

If I start Rhino, Bongo, Octane etc load into Rhino. But if I double-click a .3dm file, those plugins are not loaded. Why is this pls, and how can I fix it?

My wild-ass guess is the Windows File Association for 3DM files on your system is opening the 32-bit version of Rhino V5, and when using the desktop shortcut you are using the 64-bit shortcut.
