Dormer roofs and Roof cuts in Revit

Hi,
I am modelling a roof in Revit using Grasshopper and Rhino.inside.Revit. I use the “Add Roof” component then the “Host Shape” component to model the sloped roof.
I now want to add some dormers. I managed to do it manually in Revit using the dormer tool to create an opening in the roof but I will have to repeat it many times and test different variants so I would prefer to keep using Grasshopper.
I tried operating the booleans in Grasshopper and use the resulting brep’s vertices to feed back into “Host shape” but it does not do it. below is a screenshot of what I want to transfer into Revit
Any suggestions for the best workflow ?

Have you tried these components for opening?

Hi Muhammad,
Thank you for your suggestion. Using the vertical opening helped, even though it is not exactly the shape I am trying to model as my dormer walls are slightly tilted so they are not vertical.
Also, remains the other question of joining my dormer roof to the main roof. Any ideas ?

I couldnt find any api solution to create Dormer roofs. We need to look for other solutions. Can you share your example files?

Thanks, here they are

Rhino inside Dormer Roof.rvt (7.3 MB)

Dormer Roof script debug.gh (26.9 KB)

Hi @ahmedwael.si I was unable to open the revit file because of the older Revit version.

How about you create an adaptive family and use these points the create the roof in the project

Hi Muhammad,
I internalized all Revit-related geometries and roof creation in this GH script, so you can open it in any Revit version.
I will check if the adaptive families can bring solutions to the problem, thanks !
