Door/Window Disappears when Wall Updated using RiR

I have a GH definition that creates Revit walls using Rhino geometry as input.

Once the walls are in Revit we will attach doors to them. The problem I’m having is that if the wall gets updated (e.g. moved) then the door disappears.

If I use a face-based family then the component doesn’t disappear but it doesn’t stay attached to the wall.

Is this normal behaviour or am I doing something wrong? I have the tracking mode set to Enabled - Update

Hard to say, can you post a screenshot of your definition or a small example?

Here’s a screenshot. I’m using Elefront to reference objects by layer, filtering for surfaces, extrusions.

RiR version 1.27.9121.7152 with Revit 2025.4, Rhino 8

The doors are placed manually then?

Not seeing the behavior you are describing in this quick test…

I do see that with a Wall by Profile, it is creating a new wall when moved. We’ll look into it. Thanks for reporting.

Thanks @Japhy

Hi @Japhy, not asking for the solution, but asking whether there’s likely to be a solution. Our proposed workflow is sort of dependent on this, so if it doesn’t work we’ll need to find another solution or a different alternative altogether.

I believe this will be ok, but can’t be definitive until the devs can take a look. The ElementId should change with a move & element tracking enabled.
