Does V6 feature layer highlights when object selected?

Hi,
ever since I started with Rhino 4 a large chunk of my build time is wasted trying to find a layer an object is on.

Desperate plea yet again for selected object sees its layer highlighted

Hi, I spend I reckon 40% of my time trying to find layers objects live on. I simply need to INSTANTLY see what layer an object is on. I dont want to see it in one list then try to find it in my layers palette. I am forever turning on Properties, noting where it lives, then trying desperately to find that layer in a vast list in my layers palette. I am losing my evenings through this, day after day. I NEED VISUAL FEEDBACK IN THE ACTUAL LAYERS PALETTE. I dont want to allocate a selected objec…

Why cant such a simple thing exist now in Rhino ? V4 then V5 then V6.

that simple fact of seeing the layer an object or curve or line is on is all I ask for, the layer name at base of screen is no help,.

I hope this script does what I want.

Where do I put this and once installed does it show layer every time I launch rhino and select an object or do I have to go somewhere and run script every time I need to select an object ?
