Does something like a gene pool that does allow input from other blocks exist?

I can edit variables within the gene pool, but that results messy/tricky

is there a way to connect the variables of the gene pool with other blocks?

for example I do need the gene count to be the same as the object count that I do have in the sam scene, the object count is already defined by a slide, is there some way to connect that slide to the gene count variable of the gene pool? or some other tool/blocks that can do the job and behaves like the gene pool?
