Does anyone know of a tool like Splop but that keeps the scale the same

I hope somebody can advise.

I need to place rivets which are block refs and just want to be able to click them onto a surface freehand but the scale can’t change so splop is no good for this.
Anyone know of a tool that’s in V8 or a plugin or script?
Array along curve will not work either for this as it’s too perfect.

use OrientOnSrf. after defining the base and reference point of your rivet (reference is a bit awkward but you will figure it out) you can simply click on your surface wherever you want and it will appear where you click instantly.

i used these settings, for a carefree workflow.
