Does anyone know how Maxwell supported motion blur for Rhino?

Hi,

I ask me what kind of motion blur features was supported by the Maxwell plugin for Rhino because I want to ask the Chaosgroup team for something similar. What kind of motion blur was supported - linear, rotation and curves? How was the setup? Was a hierarchical order possible (linear motion for the whole car and rotation for the wheels)?

Does anyone used it and could share his experience please?

@jdhill would know

My plugin (up through Rhino 5, I do not know about newer plugin versions) supported camera blur, mesh deformation blur, and linear movement object blur. In each case it worked only with two motion steps, a starting & ending position, and it was not possible to use both deformation & linear blur on a single object. It is a bit tricky handling this in Rhino since objects reside in world space, with no local reference frame, so to do something more advanced would likely involve/require use of blocks and some specific workflow, but I did not reach the point of doing that before I left the company.

I found an archive of an older plugin manual here, with discussion of motion blur being on page 80: https://archive.org/details/manualzilla-id-7350250/page/80/mode/2up
