It seems that knot object snap is superfluous.

Seems fine here, I use it often to snap to the edit points.

Nope, I have no idea at all what a knot is, I actually thought this was the M.S. Paint forum, my bad.

Knots coincide with Rhino’s nurbs curve spans (sub domains), I use them often.
