Dividing up a surface to better flatten out parts

I am trying to create an artwork template for flat vector art that should be somewhat accurate to the surfaces in this file. Clearly there need to be several pieces. that would then be layed on top of each other in real world installation. But I am wondering what the best method might be to divvy this up.

This is how would do this:

  • One surface is already planar
  • Use a bounded box, that will give you 6 surfaces to work with, You can also rotate the box if needed.
  • search a surface of the box, close to the surface you want to work with.
  • create a brep in between.
  • resize brep for your needs
  • if needed combine more surface = breps to get more attachement surfaces.
