is it possible to display z-depth in the viewport? this would be great to add depth of field to screenshots.
another nice feature would be an option to display an objects shadow (ambient occlusion or lighting based) but at the same time hide the object itself (= making it 100% transparent). making the object transparent and setting the display modes “shadow options” to “always cast shadows” on “transparent objects” won´t work, because then shadows on the object itself are created and make it “visible” (in shadow color).
