Display printwidth in layouts and viewport

When I work with breps i i can’t get it to show the linewidth/printwidth of the edges in real time. Only when I try to print it i see it in the small PDF preview.

It works fine with curves and I have also tried to play with the PrintDisplay command.

Is this just not a feature Rhino has?

Hej Asger -

Please post both a .3dm file that illustrates the issue and the output from the Rhino SystemInfo command.

When you set PrintDisplay state to on it shows the problem. Here is an example of what i see in the viewport and what i want it to show which is the correct print width.

I accidentaly changed the print color between the taking of the images but it still shows the problem

Hi Asger,

Try unchecking Apply Display Mode Scales in the Print Dialog or adjust the Edge scale in the Artic Display Mode

Also you are on 8.10, the latest is 8.16

I think you understand me backwards.
I want to be able to see the true print width without having to press print to see the preview. Currently i only see thin lines that should be wide and the print width only works ‘live’ on curves and not on Breps.

If i try to play with the edge settings in artic it becomes universal and also won’t show when using layouts.

But by looking in the background of one of your pictures it seems that it works fine in your viewport.

The images i uploaded show a curve to a corresponding brep on the same layer. As you can see the curves and edges dont display the same.

Either i’m not quite following (the print preview and pdf look similar) or its due to the version differences.

I just updated and it nothing changed.

I see the one on the left, but i want to see the one on the right. The true print width of the breps are only visible when i press ‘Ctrl+P’.

And as you can see it only works on the curves

I found the problem!

The display setting of the surface needs to be put on “Pixels” and not “Width”
