Is it possible to have text only visible in a dimension
You can select any dimension and then in the Properties panel simply write what the dimension will display, be it a custom number or text or a special character. If you want to revert to the default number displayed by the dimension, you can write <>
in the text field. If you write your custom text or number after the <> , the dimension will include both, the default number and your custom text/number.
Hi Bobi
Thanks for your reply.
What I want to display is the text only.
I have ticked Supress extension 1 and 2.
I have made arrowhead 1 and 2 equal to no arrow.
I want to turn off the line between extension lines which would leave text only visible.
I don’t think this is possible but it would be great if it could be done.
Another option could be to have the option to select a colour for the text, the text black and the rest white.
Thanks for your help.
Hi Bill -
That’s not possible, no.
It sounds like you don’t really want a dimension - does the CurveLength
text field get you anywhere?

Hi Wim
Thanks for your response.
I detail Bulk Storage Tanks for Petrochemical Terminals.
My General Arrangement drawing has a plan view and front elevation.
In my plan view I label the orientation of the shell plate nozzles in degrees from a datum point, normally North.
At the moment I just type it as text but it would be good if I could dimension it properly as an angular dimension starting at 0° and working around to 360°. Its like an ordinate dimension but angular.
