After updating to SR5 I’ve noticed a bug where setting ground plane to shadow only in a perspective detail no longer uses an infinite plane, it seems as though it ends at the back of the geometry. If I rotate a cube the horizontal shadow line moves along with it. I just noticed it today so I grabbed the release candidate: 8.5.24047.13001, 2024-02-16 and it’s still present.
Hello- what display mode are you using here?
-Pascal
It was one I created, however it has the same behavior in the rendered display mode or any others if the ground plane shadows are turned on. This screengrab shows the default shaded mode with two changes, ground plane shadow only turned on and lighting method set to ambient occlusion. There’s also a second horizontal line that appears in the foreground, like as though there’s a bounding box that cuts it off at both the front and the back. Everything is fine in the model space, this only appears in perspective details on page layouts, it doesn’t change if I set the projection to parallel or two-point either.
Edit: If I turn the shadow off but leave the ground plane on it has a similar effect, the issue might stem from the ground plane behaviour rather than the shadow setting.
