Deleting the McNeelUpdate DownloadCache folder

Doing some computer cleanup and noticed Rhino has a folder
C:*\AppData\Local\McNeel\McNeelUpdate\DownloadCache

Mine is running over 1.7GB in size
Any reason not to delete this?

thanks
Ben

Those are handy if you need to roll back your install for some reason, other than that delete away.

Thanks for the speedy reply!

cheers
Ben

Hi Ben -
Also note that (1) if you delete that folder and still have automatic updates enabled, that folder will just be recreated, and (2) only the last 2 versions are kept. Older versions are automatically deleted.

Hello, this is not the case on my system I have 6 versions of Rhino 7 in the cache folder, some versions are the first SR of 2020.

So is it possible to simply delete the contents of the “DownloadCache” folder, or is there a procedure to follow to clean the cache?

thank you

You can simply delete them, it will not affect the current install at all.

Hello!
Thanks, I have deleted all the contents of the folder, some elements were added when Rhino started but the old versions were cleaned
