Decals do not show up in the rendering

I want to have a decal assigned to a hull using planar mapping. In the rendered view it is visible as I would like to have it. Once I do the rendering it is visible at the inside of the hull no matter which direction the surface has and also where I place the mapping. Assigning the mapping in the top view it os visible on the outside of the hull but of course in wrong position. I really got mad about that. There must be a simple explanation.

Can you provide a 3dm file as well as the texture used in the decal? Also, what version of Rhino are you using including the service release and what version of Flamingo are you using? The latest is Flamingo nxt 5.0 which is available here…

Box.3dm (77.2 KB)

I am using Rhino 5 plus Flamingo NXT 5. As you can see in the rendered view it is visible on the side face, but in the rendered picture not. Only the decal from top.

This is working here using Rhino 5 SR13 and Flamingo nxt 5.0. Are you using SR13 of Rhino 5? You can get the latest service release here if you aren’t.

It says that I have the latest version and my program is up-to-date.

Reinstalled the download. Now it works.

Many thanks Brian.

Have a nice day.

That may have been because SR13 was not an automatic update… only Flamingo nxt 5.0 needed it. Glad you got it working.

Sorry Brian, but I have to tell you that this was now only one time working. I will uninstall Flamingo NXT 5 and get it reinstalled. Will tell you tomorrow the result. Maybe it has something to do with some old Flamingo stuff.

Good morning Brian, just to keep you posted - everything works fine now. Many thanks again. I just needed to download the latest Flamingo update. Confusing that it didn’t automatically and always saying that the latest is installed.
Have a good time.
