Data is not forwarding to Brep (component family form)

Hello, how are you?

I would like some help using the “component family form” component.

I am a beginner in Rhino Inside Revit and am learning on my own, so unfortunately I have come across a problem that I am unable to solve or understand the reason for this problem.

Basically, my goal is to create a 3D form in Revit with all the standard information, such as: Visible, Visibility/Graphics, Material, Subcategory and Solid/Void, all of this from a geometry that I would simply link with Brep to create the final form.

I then found the “component family form” component, which has all this information and linked it to an “Add Form” so that the form could be created within the family.

The problem is that the form is created blank, without the information I need for the form.

Does anyone know the reason for this or a different way to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Caio,

There are a number of possibilities for why you aren’t seeing the form.

Please you provide additional information to help us help you. Thanks!

Hello,

From my experience I have always used “Component Family Form” along with “New Component Family”.

The “Component Family Form” doesn’t apply setting/work with “Add form”

Am i missing something?

I’m able to see the form, but the component wont transfer any parameter. The material just goes default instead of red color in my code.

The Component Family Form is intended to be used with the New Component Family like so.

I do see an issue when in a Family Document using the Convert Material Component as well as assignment. I’ll get a bug report started.

Are you executing this in a revit model file or a family creation file?
Let’s say I’m running this inside my preferred family template, Would it work?

Actually no bug, i was looking at the wrong name for the material.

In the Family Doc you can go straight to the Form then set the Material Parameter.
