Cycles doesn't load

Rhino (6.0.16054.12001, 23.02.2016)
German language in the OS

Cycles doesn’t load.
While it did and worked in earlier releases.

RhinoCycles uses open source libraries that are available at www.rhino3d.com/opensource
RhinoCycles 6.0.16054.12001
Error occured loading plug-in
Details:
Die DLL “ccycles.dll”: Das angegebene Modul wurde nicht gefunden. (Ausnahme von HRESULT: 0x8007007E) kann nicht geladen werden.

There was a problem with that release.
Try installing a more current one.

I’m on this one but I suspect a new one coming within an hour or two.

Hi Charles,

the latest WIP (01.03.2016) should work again.

Thanks Michael,
I was indeed a version behind…

I find that the 3/15/2016 WIP produces the same “Unable to load Cycles” (paraphrased) message that the last two builds produced on startup.
Is there something else beyond just installing the WIP that I need to be aware of to get it to work?

I thought I would take a look at RhinoCycles, but I don’t see it as an option when I select “Current Renderer”

How do I enable it? It’s already shown as loaded in the plug-in list:

Cycles is currently available only as display mode: Raytraced.

If you really want to render into a render window, then you can try using the CyclesForRhino plug-in, which you can download from https://github.com/mcneel/RhinoCycles/releases.

Note though that the render window plug-in isn’t that much tested, because it isn’t bundled with Rhino WIP (yet). If and when the plug-in stops working check the above link for newer releases - and if there aren’t any poke me.

/Nathan

Thanks, that was very helpful.
