When I cut a section through a Lands Design terrain using the VisualArq section tool, how do I display a hatch or solid fill to the terrain in the section view? I can toggle between the 2d and 3d view, but cannot wok out how to display a hatch to the ground.
Hi @chris3, we are working on that for the next Lands Design version update. I’ll let you know when it is available.
@chris3 ignore my previous reply, what we are working on was referring to Rhino clipping planes, not VisualARQ sections, which is something that should already work:
With the Section attributes in the Properties panel, you can assign hatch patterns, fills and lineweights to terrains in section. Of course you need to display the terrain in 3D:
Thanks Francesc,
That is excellent.
One further question - when I set the VisualArq section as a view in a Layout page, and try to print a vector pdf, the section turns off, and all it prints is an elevation of the Lands Design terrain without section fills. If a select the pdf raster print option, then it prints the section (including terrain section hatches). Am I missing something?
Regards
Chris
@chris3 I forgot to inform you that we fixed the error that didn’t let you print to vector output section hatch patterns on lands terrains in Lands 5.5 version.
Thanks Francesc,
Much appreciated. Please continue the great work!

Chris
