Cutting (column) circles once it reaches the outer perimeter of the roof

Hi everyone,

For an assignment at the university we have to create a fully parametric roof. During the modelling I encountered the problem that the columns I have created with circles (and projecting it upon the surface) are not shattering once it touches the outer perimeter. Therefore, the surface of both the column and the roof won’t be made. So My question is: how and where do I create a rule for the shattering of the column circles, so that once it touches the edge of the roof, it still creates the loft.

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Not sure what is the problem because I am seeing both, the roof and the columns.

Hi Piotr, thanks for responding, I see that I didnt put in a picture of the problem that is occuring. If i use the sliders to control the position of the column, the surface is disappearing.

There are several issues.

The area of the open curve can’t be calculated.

The loft can’t be constructed and the index of the selected surface is wrong (sorting recommended)

I don’t have much time to clean and tweak it, but at least it should give you the hint where to look at.
