Cutting a hole in an object

I have a set of curves that I joined, extruded, and the created surfaces using the Planar curve. I then joined it all together.

I know this is a basic question, I have a another object that I need to use to cut a slot in the edge of the main object. I tried a couple of the binary commands but can’t seem to make it happen.

I’ve done it before but can’t remember, old age and all

Thanks

Hi! You have to use Boolean Difference (_BooleanDifference command). First select the object to subtract from (the main one), click, and select the object to subtract with (the secondary). If your objects are OK it should work. If not post the 3DM file here someone to take a look.

Thank you, totally forgot about that.
