Cut slot in sub d

in the attached file i am trying to learn how to cut a slot in a sub d part.
i am assuming it will turn into a nurbs part which it ok.

can you make a sketch of how you want that slot? generally if you want you can stay in subd, the only thing you need is making locally more subdivisions depending on how accurate you need it. that might be silly or not, but then again since converting to nurbs is no problem why even bother with subd in the first place.

there is a red sketch in the corner of the example.

go to right view, select the square, use the command trim

i can’t get it to work on a subd part. if if switch to a nurbs part the trim cuts out the side an it is not a solid.

Use Wirecut instead of Trim
