Cut & Fill Calculation for a Custom Trail Surface

Hello everyone! I’d like to clarify whether it’s possible to accurately calculate earthwork volumes (cut & fill) in Lands Design when working with a custom modeled trail surface.

My workflow: I model the trail shape manually in Rhino it’s a full 3D surface/mesh, not a standard Lands Design “Road” or “Path” object. Then I place this surface on top of the existing Lands Design terrain.

The issue: In Lands Design, volume calculations seem to be available only for linear elements (Roads, Paths, etc.).
However, I need to compute earthwork volumes between my custom surface and the existing terrain.

My question: Is there a way in Lands Design to calculate cut & fill volumes between: my custom 3D surface (the designed trail)

Hi @Alex_Plem Unfortunately it is not possible to compare the cut & fill volumes of a lands Terrain with a custom 3D surface or polysurface. The tool to calculate and list terrain land movements is based only on the original Lands Design terrain and the resulting terrain after adding paths, cuts % fills or holes.

Hi Francesc, thank you very much for the clarification.
It’s a pity that comparing volumes with a custom 3D surface isn’t possible, at least for now
