Curve boolean command on text object curve (script Font)

Hi. I Tried to split the intersection of the letter curves of name (Maribelle) created with text object (script Font), in 1 command but I can’t do it, I Tried the right click of the command (Curve boolean: Delete All Input) but I couldn’t do it. I Attached Video below on Rhino 8 And another Video on Corel Draw show a nice result. The font name: Thirsty Script regular font. (I can do it one by one letter by letter) Any help Please?

rhino file: Maribelle v1.3dm (89.1 KB)
CorelDraw file: Maribelle 2.cdr

Hi @George_Chahane,

You might just use the Trim command to cleanup what you don’t want.

Hi George

I would use Grasshopper in this case, it can make things a lot easier.

What you need to do is separate the outer and inner curves. The inner curves being inside the a, b and e’s.

Take a look at the GH file attached.

The exported SVG imports into Inkscape very nicely!

Hi Dale. Thanks for reply but I want to do it in one click not one by one. it take a long time.

Hi Michaelhreft. I am beginner on grasshopper, I learned some lesson from youtube, I tried these points:
1- I created Rhino text:
2- I Hatched the curves
3-right click on outer curves in Grasshopper> select it on Rhino > enter
4- right click on inner curves in Grasshopper> select it on Rhino > enter
5- how to do this?: Right click and bake the hatches,
they can be exported as SVG
6- how to do this : Hatch any boundary curve in Rhino workspace to populate this component. Delete the hatch afterwards.
Picture below. Can you explain to me thes steps 5 and 6? by video. thank you

Hi George -

That seems to work just fine here:
2025-03-06 - CurveBoolean

First you click outside all curves, then inside each island that you need to keep.

Thanks Wim. I try it now > How you to do it? with shift key? I cant do it

Hi George -

No. Just select all curves, run CurveBoolean, then left-click somewhere outside, and left-click in the islands.
-wim

It doesn’t work from me see the video

You are not clicking inside the island. It looks like you are perhaps trying to click on the island’s curve but clicking on the wrong side…

You need to click away from the curves, inside the island.

Ahh Thank you Wim

Thanks Wim for the solution, and thanks Michaelklreft, there is another post I write it from Mars 2024 and Gijs de Zwart reply: this is changed for Rhino 9. Can you create a grasshopper file for this issue? RH 81146
How to offset curve with Loose Yes but with trim the intersect on Rhino6 - Rhino - McNeel Forum

Hi George -

I’m afraid I can’t, no.
You can use the Rhino 9 WIP for this.

Hi MR_Rhino. I love it .Surface from planar curves> Union coplanar Surface planer >DupBorder. Thanks. faster than CurveBoolean If the name is Theodoraclaudine :grinning_face::grinning_face:.
I am looking for a quick way to cut these names with a laser machine to make a silver or gold necklace. I saved the file as .Ai format. to open it on EZcad2 program.
