Creating Separation of Surfaces/Materials?

Hi all!

Is there a quick way to correctly model the separation of different surfaces/materials in an object? For example I’m wanting to try and model the phone in the attached picture, how can I achieve those seams between the glass screen and the rest of the plastic object, and between the different pieces/surfaces of the same material? Modelling two surfaces, zooming in all the way, and then ever so slightly separating them to create the seam doesn’t seem like a good workflow (unless that’s how it’s actually done?). Thanks!

Hello- for a visual model, for rendering, often a fillet at the edges will do, or edge softening. No need to separate the objects, the rounded edges may be fine. You will need the vertical wall surfaces though, I think. to make this look good.
